Otto Peterson Farms

Fresh Michigan Apples

Get to know the growing family that started it all.

For more than 100 years, the land that we now call Otto Peterson Farms has been planted with fruit trees by the Peterson Family.

Otto Peterson grew apples, cherries, peaches, pears, and passed the legacy on to his sons Russ and Ron and their families who now manage the family farm.

Continuing the Legacy

Ron and Russ had both found careers outside of farming and had to work together along with their sisters Lea and Jennifer to decide what to do with the family farm.

The decision was made by all siblings to continue the farm as a way to teach upcoming generations the value of hard, honest work and to continue the legacy of the family farm.

After a successful career, Ron Peterson retired in 2023 and took up farm management full-time.

Fall Honeycrisp Tour

Alex Richert and Morgan Jooraanstad (Richert) both grew up spending their summers working on the Otto Peterson Farm.

Shortly after beginning college, they each began bringing their family farm's fresh Honeycrisp apples to towns across Minnesota and North Dakota that is now known as Freshly Picked Tour.

Each Fall you can taste the family's Honeycrisp apples fresh off the tree, just days after harvest.

Stay tuned in the Month of July we will announce tour dates for the Fall Apple tour!
